Welcome to my small piece of the internet. I'm Amanda Saulter, The Creative Hobbyist
Why The Creative Hobbyist? I consider myself a bit of a "Jill of All Trades" I am not an expert at any one thing but instead good at many. I am an avid hobbyist, Pinterest addict, hairstylist, mommy, business owner, party enthusiast and life long learner. I have two littles: Gwendolyn and Jaxon. I blog about my little hero Jaxon, Life as a Mom, Saving Money, Creating, Pinterest projects and whatever else strike my fancy.
After my son was diagnosed with Spina Bifida at 18 weeks gestation I was out of work for the remainder of my pregnancy as we recovered from fetal surgery. Crazy! I know right. You can read all about it here. Warning, Graphic photos. My son continues to have complex medical needs with lots of doctors appointments, weekly therapy and monthly developmental appointments. Therefore, I knew going back to work would be impossible. So I decided to go into business for myself. This way I feel that I get the best of both worlds. I am home with my kiddos, I get to watch them learn and grow but I also provide for my family, connect with other adults and create which is essential to my mental well being.
I am hoping that through this blog that I can help another mom who has received the D-Day Diagnosis know that it is OKAY. I hope that our story can help provide inspiration and support. I want to connect with other moms, provide review and tutorials for those Pinterest ideas your boards are full of. And also help moms who are too busy to bring their Pinterest dreams into reality. Learn more about hiring me to make these dreams a reality.
