About Amanda: The Creative Hobbyist
Hi! I'm Amanda the owner and operator of The Creative Hobbyist. I consider myself a "Jill of All Trades". I started The Creative Hobbyist as a way to help others using my creative talents while also supporting my family and maintaining a flexible schedule that can accommodate my son's medical needs. I have two littles: Gwendolyn and Jaxon. My son was diagnosed with Spina Bifida at 20 weeks gestation. At 23 weeks Jaxon's spine was repaired in utero. Crazy! I know. I was out of work for the rest of my pregnancy as we recovered from fetal surgery. Since my son has many complex medical issues he has tons of doctors appointments, weekly therapy and monthly developmental appointments. To see more y ou can follow his journey on Facebook (Jaxon SB Adventure). I knew going back to work would be next to impossible and so I decided to go into business for myself. This way I feel like I get the best of both worlds. I am home with my kiddos, I get to watch them learn and grow but I also provide for my family, connect with other adults and create which is essential to my mental well being. I am hoping to help moms who are too busy or don’t feel they are creative enough to bring their Pinterest dreams into reality. Whether it’s creating the perfect party as a party planner, creating unique party decorations, or capturing those beautiful family moments with my camera as a photographer I hope to use my creative hobbies to help make another mama’s life a little easier.
